I'm still with Fred

Fred didn't do as well as I would have liked in South Carolina today, but I will not be jumping to another candidate just yet. When Fred says he's done, I'll pick another one, but until then I'm still on board. There are way to many delegates left to be picked up for Fred to even consider bowing out right now.

Man he sure is getting hammered at the conservative blogs though. I'm totally amazed at the so called conservatives that are attempting to dance on his grave tonight. That's pretty disheartening to me. I had hope that the conservative movement would think a little harder before throwing the Reagan coalition out the window. That's what I get for thinking.

Maybe there aren't that many conservatives left. What I'm disappointed in is all those that still say Fred ran a lousy campaign. Fred isn't lazy. Americans are lazy. They want everything spoon fed.

People will get the candidate they deserve this time around. God help us all.

You got that right. I too was amazed at what I've read tonight. I'm obviously no political pundit as I would have thought Thompson would have resonated with lots of people.

People are also going to stick us with a candidate WE don't deserve, but maybe that's the price we have to pay to get people to wake up to the political process.

I don't know, nightwister. The proof is in the pudding. Polled individually Fred's platform positions are widely popular. Given that, what can one deduce from his decided lack of popularity? Poor campaigning would seem to be a likely culprit.

Triumphalism is in poor taste. I hate to see it, but I have indeed seen it after each of the primary votes thus far. The perils of the horse race I suppose.

Nice blog, Geary, btw.
